About The Remote Dental Nurse
If you have a team member transitioning into a new role or you have team members who are struggling within your practice, then I can help them with 1-2-1 mentoring.
I’m able to support roles involving implant nursing, treatment coordinating, lead nursing, and trainee dental nurses.
Claire – experienced, intelligent, hardworking with great leadership and communication skills. She knows how to use the simple logic and practical knowledge that goes with running a proper team. She was (and still is) a great mentor – always there to help you, share her knowledge and experience. She knows how to bring out what’s the best in you. She is a good team player and will always stand up for other nurses. She has great communication skills with patients – always make them feel at ease even before and during complicated dental surgeries. She is always calm and professional. I’m so glad that I have met her, she helped me a lot with my further qualifications. She also helped me to overcome the language barrier and she always believed in me. I miss working with her as she is a great nurse but I have a friend in her and she still supports me in my dentistry career.
I got to know Claire (or she made time to get to know me!) through an 8-weeks’ treatment coordinating course I had been on and we used to have weekly one-to-one mentoring. She has a vast amount of experience in dentistry and of life, which she has utilised to guide me in making better use of my skills in my career in dentistry. Claire listened to me – not only as a dental professional, but as an individual; she made the effort to get to know me as a person – I am rather reserved, but I found it comfortable and a relief to open up to her. She has been and is supportive in my ambitions to drive the dental nursing profession forwards, whilst encouraging me to have a healthy work/life balance. She is genuine and honest, and strives to elevate people – she is someone I will happily go for guidance; a true mentor, in all sense.
I have had the pleasure of working with Claire since January this year (2021). Since hiring her as an Assessment Associate at NCFE to develop the assessment approach for the T Level in Dental Nursing. I am the Assessment Design Manager, and work with many subject matter experts across different industries, and I find that Claire’s experience in industry, knowledge of education and aptitude for challenge sets her apart.
During the time working together, Claire was given responsibility for developing an assessment involving observation in practice, and soon showed herself to be a dynamic and efficient worker. Quite quickly, we began to trust Claire with a bigger workload as she consistently produces high standard assessment materials due to both her significant experience mentoring and educating in the dental nursing industry as well as her ability to understand the challenges a trainee faces in their learning journey. Claire is quick to accommodate tight deadlines, is flexible with fluctuating workloads, and shows resilience when presented with candid feedback. Her expert opinion is respected and validated by colleagues in the sector, so I also commissioned her to produce a specialised area of assessment as one of just two trusted and reliable developers.
In addition to her impressive work ethic, she is also a consistently positive person who is a pleasure to work with.
